Fin

It’s all started when I found Fujifilm Superia 800 Color Film (NOW WITH 4th LAYER!!!!!1) lying around, expiring its ass off on a dirt-gathering shelf of some corner shop.

So like any other fool, I bought 3 of them.

Which i waited for a long time before shooting.

So, last umm… Junewasit? when i went to bombay, I decided to do some propah street in bombay

buttofcourse, i just end up taking pictures of friends and animals.

the cretins at the studio, didn’t scan all 38 photographs, they decided that 25 is a nice number to stop at.

Which brings me to an important public service announcement.

——————————————————–

If you are in Dubai, more specifically Bur Dubai,
PLEASE DO NOT GO TO “AL MAMOORA STUDIO” for ANYTHING.

They’re overpriced, they’ve got SHIT quality and SHITTIER service and are just general douchebags.

People who know NOTHING about photography should NOT be allowed to work in photo-studios.

So please, do yourself a favor, go to some other photo studio, where people are AS clueless, but more polite.

——————————————————–

So yeah, forgive that rant, but consider it seriously if youknowhatimsayin…

ok, back on track now…

all shots taken with my 28mm f/2.8… i think…

as always, i must apologize for the scan quality, al mamoora are shittier IRL than their name would make it seem.

Late at night, public bus in bombay,

dude with adidas in public bus

moar

cab, i shot it for teh lulz bokeh

anuj acting apprehensive and all, actually assholes assume anuj as an ass

anuj, all sethlike

no, we weren’t drinking

what pretty eyelashes

anuj and shreyans, with his canon ae1 (smexy camera that!) at mcdonalds in bombay

Scene at shankara. shyamla, squirrel, shreyans; Srivatsan shot said scene.

thats true youknow, “success means never having to wear a suit”

shruti, reviewing pictures on the canon

shruti

and finally, my thing de resistance

a diptych, its brilliant how it accurately portrays shreyans,

diptych: room - shreyans

there are 3-4 good ones on the roll, but since douchebag inc. a.k.a. al mamoora studios didn’t feel like scanning them, i’m not gonna be able to show them off for some time.

cheerio!

and if you DO shoot film, try superia 800,
its got great tones, (although i suspect the old-times-quality on this is due to it being expired)
it tolerates pushing upto 1600, very fine grain

all in all, sex film.

So, here they are, shots from the 2nd roll…

Ive learnt a few things while shooting this roll;

Firstly, long exposures are TOUGH…

A tripod and cable release ARE ESSENTIAL!!! even the mirror causes a small amount of shake… so, a tripod is a must have, admitted you’re gonna look weird lugging it around… but hey, those filipinos look weird with their fishing poles, at the creek, next to boards saying “dont fish here”, so there…

Next time i’m doing long exposures, im doing it with a dSLR… dunno where to procure one from though O_O

Next, kodak color film isnt really the best choice for photography in the night, gives exposures (with low light) a greenish color cast…

and some more random stuff…

But all in all, walking alone at 2 in the night, wiht ur camera, is powerful fun… w00t w00t

long exposure at the ramada intersection

My first long exposure shot, near the ramada intersection… 10ish seconds at f/1.4, corrected brightness/contrast

tripodness

The trusty aluminium tripod, which i picked up for approximately 35.0346582/- dirhams

Inflames
Probably the best from this shitty roll… a long exposure again, 10ish seconds or so at f/1.4

Shot from the area of the creek near the sheiks office… Wish i could have got one of those big and fancily lit dhows go by… just my luck…

the green lantern

The green lantern, the beacon of whateverness, bleh… looks good dont it? fuck yes it does… found it in an alleyway off the old souq area… 1/8th of a second i think… I like the out of focus basket, sucks to you if you dont…

wind tunnels

Wind tunnels. Check the previous post for context for this shot… slightly out of focus, cropped from the original frame… not easy to get a good shot from this place… too many beams poking inbetween and sleeping man and cat…

hipshot

A parting shot, from the hip, to remember me by… kinda cool, this selfportrait… bah
