Shamal, the precursor to Dubai Desert Rock, held on the 15th… was a fuckin amazing gig… Junkyard Groove, PDV, Wasted Land, pwndd!!!! The winners were Junkyard, who had a mindblowingly astounding set… So, they get a three year record deal AND they get to open on both days at DESERT ROCK!!! with CHILDREN OF BODOM, IN FLAMES, MASTODON etc etc…. They fuckin deserve all the popularity they’re getting… They’re probably Madras’ ONLY good export 
Anyway, the moshpits, the headbanging, the sound, was ultracool… There i was, looking down, turning the shutterspeed knob, and before i realize it, im suddenly in the centre of the fuckin moshpit… Ha… had to safeguard my camera… dont want the half kilogramme ironclad body to catch someone’s head or something…
Shooting was tough, considering the light was really dim and erratic (think strobes)… I still managed to get some good shots, although i messed up the focussing on a few… BW 400CN again… good stuff…
